These are tasks that people are willing to pay you to complete. For example a HIT might ask: “Is there a pizza parlour in this photograph?” Typically these tasks are extraordinarily difficult for computers, but simple for humans to answer.

Once you have chosen a HIT to complete, click the “Accept HIT” button to have it assigned to you. Follow the instructions on how to complete the HIT and when you are done, click the “Submit ” button to save your answer.

You are paid when your answer is approved by the person that listed the HIT. The money you earn is deposited into your Amazon.com account, where you can turn it into cash at any time by transferring it to your personal checking account.

Pues sí, el “internauta” (y por lo tanto “Tú”) es el hombre del año 2006, en esta tradicional mención de la revista TIME de grandes personajes que han hecho aportaciones que de alguna manera cambiarán la historia de la humanidad. También vale la pena en este número, el artículo “The Gurus of YouTube” referente a la historia de Chad Hurley y Steve Chen, creadores de este famoso servicio.

Hoy se anunció que Google estará ayudando a la NASA con varios proyectos que van desde el manejo de información de gran volumen, hasta monitoreo climático en tiempo real y mapas tridimensionales de la Luna y Marte. He aquí algunos extractos del anuncio:

“This agreement between NASA and Google will soon allow every American to experience a virtual flight over the surface of the moon or through the canyons of Mars,” said NASA Administrator Michael Griffin at Headquarters in Washington. “This innovative combination of information technology and space science will make NASA’s space exploration work accessible to everyone,” added Griffin.

“Partnering with NASA made perfect sense for Google, as it has a wealth of technical expertise and data that will be of great use to Google as we look to tackle many computing issues on behalf of our users,” said Eric Schmidt, chief executive officer of Google. “We’re pleased to move forward to collaborate on a variety of technical challenges through the signing of the Space Act Agreement.”

Entra las nuevas cosas de Windows Vista, hay muchas mejoras en la interface, pero también hay nuevos shortcuts y combinaciones de teclas para hacer cosas más rápido. Personalmente, la mejor para mí, es la posibilidad de cargar un programa con el teclado. Es tan simple como oprimir la tecla “Windows” y teclear el nombre del programa, por ejemplo “word”, orpimes “Enter” y listo.
